Threat Assessment and Violence Prevention Workshop

    View Details

On September 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the Bush Library and Museum will host a Threat Assessment and Violence Prevention workshop. In this one-day class SIGMA Threat Management Associate Senior Consultant Cynthia Marble will teach participants how to use threat assessment procedures to investigate threats and other disturbing behaviors in schools, follow step-by-step procedures to assess the threat, and - where necessary - develop and implement plans to reduce the risk and help maintain school safety. She participated in Governor Abbott’s first round-table after Santa Fe and SIGMA was named by the Governor to work with Texas School Safety Center to provide threat assessment training to Texas teachers.

Mrs. Marble has extensive experience conducting as well as supervising threat assessment and protective intelligence investigations on high-profile public officials and public figures. She has also served as a senior supervisor on the Secret Service Presidential Protective Division and held the position of Director, Threat Policy Coordination/U.S. Secret Service Liaison on the National Security Council Counterterrorism office. Her background includes more than twenty-six years of experience managing political, integrity and security risks in complex and hostile environments. Mrs. Marble earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Houston in 1987 and was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in January, 2011. For more information on SIGMA's expert instructors and services visit sigmatam.com.

This workshop is free of charge and the class is appropriate for school personnel, school security professionals, law enforcement professionals, emergency management professionals, mental health professionals, and anyone else who may be involved in addressing threatening behavior. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Please email info.bush@nara.gov to register. Lunch will not be provided.
